Pain in the feet can be a result of an abnormal relationship or malignment of the bones in the foot at inappropriate times during the gait cycle. An abnormal gait can result in bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, corns, calluses, or just tired aching feet. The goal of an orthotic is to help realign the bony abnormalities and restore normal function to the foot in gait. An added benefit is the reduction of pain and slowing the progression of structural deformities.
